Me and my mate spotted this one outside Crossharbour's big ASDA, more than a month ago. I can't get it out of my mind.

I'm not sure what you've got again this one.
People nick shopping trolleys so they're designed so that the wheels jam once they go over a certain point.
It's better than the ones with the big poles that made them look like bumper cars:

Nothing, I've absolute nothing against it. I think it's cute.
I am Finnish and my friend is French, and we had never seen such a thing in our countries of origin. We couldn't help wondering whether there really is a mechanism that immobilises the trolleys or, even better, tells them to turn around and return to home, or is it just meant to be a psychological/social restraint. And we haven't found out.
